Breaking changes: our new Navigation solution partner is Sygic

From TomTom to Sygic:
Over the years our former navigation provider reduced his SDK more and more to drive his own business solutions.
Finally a SDK is no longer available!
Looking for an alternative solution we found www.sygic.com/tomtom-sdk.
Why we recommend Sygic:
  • Good support at first hand
  • A modern Navigation Solution (with actual maps)
  • Native .NET support in the SDK (no need for third party solutions)
  • Many operating systems support including Linux and Android
  • A partner which is even able to adapt the Navigation solution to your needs.

    SDK Error

We encountered an error thrown by the SDK.
The following text appeared in a messagebox: "COMMS ->nr recieve field() >0" with the title "SDK ERROR!"

We are using an HP6515 device with TomTom Navigator 5.100 (build 5160).
This device divers from other devices because it has an embedded TomTom navigation kit. This is called GPS Navigation instead of TomTom Navigator.

On this device we also installed the SDK of TomTom (version 5.1) and the Wrapper (version 5.1).

This error occurs immediately when TomTom is started. I hope anyone can help me solving this problem.

    Thanks in advance.

    AW: SDK Error

    Hi Caspar,

    do I understand this right?

You do nothing (make no calls to the SDK) simpy start TTN and get this error?

In this case I would clean the \TomTom\SDKFileCalls directory - I'v got effects like this when I broke my app during testing.

Some orphans stayed in that directory and produced that result.

Another thing - this could be a known (and fixed with SDK 5.2) error - here one point of the fixlist:
    - BUGFIX: Disabling 'SDK Error' message from being displayed on certain occasions

    Regards

    Manfred
